Domestic Abuse and Violence
Alongside our core work we have found that we have had a large number of referrals from people seeking assistance when they have been in an abusive relationship. Sometimes it is only when our volunteers speak to people that they realise that they are victims of domestic violence. We educate and raise awareness on what domestic violence is and host talks and seminars to empower the community and educate them on the law in the United Kingdom relating to domestic violence and abuse.

Many of our clients are people who have grown up in a patriarchal society where abuse is tolerated and not challenged. We have found that in our marriage and parenting work we have hard to do teaching to debunk myths and change some of the entrenched beliefs around the issue of domestic violence.
We help women and their children who have been or are being subjected to, domestic abuse in any form to free themselves from the situation they are in

We refer them to agencies which provide safe housing and we offer a range of support services, before during and after leaving their abusive partner/family member. After our clients have been referred to a safe place we follow up and ensure that they are ok walking with them throughout their journey.

We support all women irrespective of whether they want to leave the relationship or not, older women, younger women, historic or current abuse; any woman. We will assist you with any other issues you may be experiencing along side your abuse, for example surrounding: immigration, discrimination, disability, LGBT, housing, debt management, alcohol and drug abuse, multiple needs, or no recourse to public funds (NRPF)
These services are run by staff and volunteers and are free of charge.
